Broan-NuTone Joins ‘Green’ Building Council

Hartford, WI — Broan-NuTone, the manufacturer of ventilation and related products, based here, has become a manufacturer member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

“With increasing energy costs and heightened awareness of environmental issues, we’re focused on developing reliable, energy efficient products,” said Tom Heidel, product manager, indoor air quality products for Broan-NuTone.

As a member of the USGBC, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Broan-NuTone “is uniquely positioned to become a major player in the green building industry,” Heidel said.

“[Upcoming], Broan-NuTone will be rolling out a number of green initiatives to highlight our commitment to energy efficiency and green building products,” he said. “We’ll also conduct an evaluation of our own environmental impact to research ways in which we can improve.”

USGBC is a non-profit organization composed of leaders from the building industry who are working to promote environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy buildings.
